Are You Ready for Your California Knowledge Test?

Use these sample questions to verify your readiness for the online MVProctor test with 40 questions.

The questions and answers in this sample test will check your knowledge of rules, road signs, and safe driving.

How Many Questions Can You Miss?

What is your goal? How many questions should you allow yourself to miss on this CA practice test?

If you score below 80 percent on this sample exam, you have most likely not read the driver handbook. Make sure you do.

You are almost there with a score between 80 and 90 percent, but make sure you don’t rely solely on a practice test like this. Trying to memorize answers and expect the same questions on the actual test is usually a poor idea.

Remember, a sample test is just that. It does not cover all the questions that may appear on the real knowledge examination.

If you still miss one or two questions, ask yourself why. Did you take enough time to read everything? Did you misunderstand the question? Or did you not know the answer? By pinpointing the reason behind your mistakes, retesting will become easier.

Learning All the Rules

You must learn California laws and safe driving techniques before applying for the California Class C Driver’s License. Read the handbook and take many practice tests.

If you score close to 100 percent on a handful of tests, you are ready for the actual examination.

After taking the DMV license test, you will be issued a permit and must practice driving before taking the road test.

Here are All Available Sample Tests

You should take as many practice tests as possible for the best results on your final California driver's license test.
