The NCDOT Sign Recognition Test 2
The North Carolina driver’s license test has two parts.
The first part tests your knowledge of standard road rules and North Carolina traffic laws. It is a 25-question written test.
In the second part, you must correctly identify common road signs by shape, color, text, and symbols.
The sign recognition test has twelve questions; you must correctly identify at least nine signs.
You will find all the possible signs in the North Carolina Driver’s Handbook. Studying the role of shapes and colors on our road signs is a good idea. There may be one or two questions about the messages shapes and colors convey.

North Carolina – NCDOT – Sample Test 2
Unlike the actual NCDOT driver’s license test, this sample test consists of 25 questions, a mix of road rules and traffic signs. We designed it to help you study for the driver’s license test and verify what you have learned.
On your real NCDOT exam, the sign recognition test is a separate test with twelve questions. You must correctly identify nine signs out of twelve to pass.
The next part, comprising 25 questions, focuses solely on traffic rules, safe driving practices, and the risks associated with combining driving with alcohol and drugs.
Aim for a Perfect Score on Each Sample Test
Aiming for a perfect score on each practice test would be best. But more importantly, make sure you fully understand both questions and answers.
There are no trick questions on the NCDOT knowledge test. Still, it is easy to answer too quickly in an actual test environment without carefully reading the questions and all options.
Remember, every word counts, and you should train yourself to read everything twice.
